Lea Colie Wight began studying at Studio Incamminati in 2003. In addition to her studies with Nelson Shanks in Studio Incamminati’s Professional Program, she has studied with eminent artists Michael Grimaldi, Robert Liberace, Anthony Ryder, and Ted Seth Jacobs at Studio Incamminati.
In 2004, Lea was recognized by Nelson for her exceptional talent and teaching abilities and invited to join the Studio Incamminati teaching staff. She currently serves as an instructor in the Studio’s Professional Program, and teaches in the Nelson Shanks Intensive and Advanced Painting Workshops at Studio Incamminati; and the Nelson Shanks Winter Intensive workshops at The Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, FL.
For the past 25 years, Lea has owned and operated a gallery in New Jersey. She studied printmaking at Georgian Court College in 2000, and earned a B.F.A. from The Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1974. Her exhibitions and awards include the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Annual Open Juried Exhibition; the Roma Moulding exhibition at the Décor Show, NYC; the NJ American Artist’s Professional League Fall Open Juried Show; the Herb and Chris Carbone Award and the Monmouth Festival of the Arts Juried Exhibition.
Lea's work is in the private collections of Mr. & Mrs. James Orphanides, Mr. & Mrs. Biggins, Mr. J. McFadden, Mrs. Carol Fitzgerald, CDR Ellen Emerson, USN and the Larry and Anne Hall Collection. Lea’s work can be seen at Main Street Gallery, NJ.
