Robin Frey has been studying at Studio Incamminati since its inception in October 2002. In addition to her Professional Program studies with Nelson Shanks, Robin has studied with Incamminati affiliated faculty Michael Grimaldi, Anthony Ryder, Robert Liberace, Jon deMartin and Ted Seth Jacobs. She studied graphite drawing with Darren Kingsley for over two years.
Robin regularly teaches a Portfolio Program in Oil Painting: Still Life and Figure , and also instructs in the Professional Program and in the Nelson Shanks’ Intensive and Advanced Painting Workshops. She has participated in group exhibitions at The Union League of Philadelphia; Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica, NY; the Chauncey Conference Center, Princeton, NJ and the Studio Incamminati Annual Exhibition.
Before arriving at Studio Incamminati, Robin studied at The Water Street Atelier, NY, with Michael Grimaldi, the New York Academy of Figurative Art with Dan Thompson, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Art Students League of New York and James Madison University. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, VA.
Robin’s work has exhibited at the Philadelphia Sketch Club Juried Show, the Main Line Art Center, Haverford, PA, Perkins Center for the Arts, Moorestown, NJ, the Artists’ House Gallery, Philadelphia, PA, and the State Art Museum Juried Show, Harrisonburg, VA.
Robin won a 2008 Honor Award from the Portrait Society of America, a National Conference Scholarship from the society, and the Award of Excellence at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists Juried Show, Ridgefield, CT. Her work is in the Larry and Anne Hall Collection and the collections of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Weiler and Mrs. Edward I. Haupt.
