Painting the Portrait
Kerry Dunn
Mondays, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Jan. 5 - March 23

Tuition $499

Students analyze the subject of portraiture through the following four concepts; shape, value, color and edge quality. These elements work simultaneously in relationship to each other to create a strong visual impression. Students learn these key elements through the study of both clothed and nude models during 3-to-12 hour poses and are welcome to experiment with their materials to include both charcoal and color. Through instructor demonstrations and critiques, students will learn about starting with the block-in, developing gesture and mastering concepts integral to develop a painting.

Kerry Dunn, a full-time instructor at Studio Incamminati, received a 2007 Portrait Society of Exceptional Merit Award. His works have been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and hang in numerous collections.
